Dennis graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Risk Management and Insurance. He began his career specializing in the large account employee benefit market with Gulf Group Services in Jacksonville. He was awarded the company’s “Rookie of the Year” award his first year and moved up the organization rapidly to Account Executive position in Tampa. From 1990-1998, he moved to BlueCross BlueShield of Florida as a Major Account Manager. He demonstrated a consistent track record of new business success while managing over a 30 million dollar block of enforce business. In 1998, Dennis joined a local brokerage operation as Vice President of Financial Services for seven (7) years. As President of Barnes Insurance & Financial Services he has established a reputation with clients on the principles of providing a high level of personal service, customer satisfaction and a commitment to excellence.

While at BlueCross BlueShield of Florida, Dennis was assigned: Gulf Power, Russell Corporation, Baptist, Escambia County, ECUA, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Rosa County School District, Okaloosa County School District, Walton County, Walton County School District, Washington County School District, Jackson County School District, Calhoun County School District, Bay County, Gadsden County School District, City of Panama City.

Glenn Little

Glenn graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources Management. He started his career at a Fortune 500 company as an Employee Relations Manager and worked in that capacity for nine years. He was responsible for managing the human resources function for eight-hundred (800) employees in five manufacturing and distribution facilities located in Florida and Alabama.

From 1999 to 2005, Glenn worked in the Marketing Department at BlueCross BlueShield of Florida servicing and renewing both large and small groups. As a member of BlueCross BlueShield’s prestigious President’s Club, Glenn was recognized for his accomplishments. Glenn has quickly built a reputation for providing his clients sound, honest advice.

While at BlueCross BlueShield of Florida, Glenn was assigned many large groups including: Gulf Power, Berg Steel Pipe, St. Joe Company, Peoples First Properties, Sallie Mae, City of Pensacola, City of Fort Walton Beach, City of Panama City, City of Apalachicola, Escambia County, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Rosa County School District, Okaloosa County School District, Jackson County School District, Jackson County, Bay County, Bay District Schools, Washington County School District and Calhoun County School District. Glenn successfully managed the open enrollment process including both employee and retiree meetings, day to day service issues, product education, prepared and presented renewals, claims/plan status reports to Risk Managers and insurance committees, attended council and board meetings and kept Risk Management abreast of applicable federal and state mandates.

Glenn is a native of Ashville, Alabama but today resides with his family in Navarre, Florida. He is an active member of Navarre Methodist Church, Gulf Breeze Rotary, Pensacola Sports Association and Auburn Alumni Association.

Barbara Carter

A native of Douglas, Georgia, Barbara received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Auburn University. She then utilized her educational skills in both Florida and Georgia as a classroom teacher.

Barbara began her insurance career in 1992 and became licensed in the life and health insurance field. She has over 14 years experience in the Employee Benefits area and currently plays a critical role in the rapid growth of Barnes Insurance and Financial Services. She brings our clients a set of unique customer service skills, allowing them to take advantage of her excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational abilities.

Active in the community, Barbara has served on the Board of Directors of FavorHouse, the Board of Directors of Gulf Breeze Rotary, Church Council of Gulf Breeze Methodist Church, and Greater Pensacola Area Society of Human Resource Management.

Julie Bennefield

Julie came to Barnes Insurance and Financial Services in 2009 as a licensed insurance agent with six years of experience in the Insurance Brokerage business. Julie’s employee benefit insurance background began with a national brokerage firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she specialized in all aspects of client services for both fully insured and self funded groups.

At Barnes Insurance and Financial Services, Julie continues to provide excellent customer service for both public and private entities utilizing her organizational and detail oriented skills. She has a wealth of knowledge from experience working with groups of all sizes and with groups with multi-locations.

Julie and her husband, Scott, have one adult son and a daughter in college. Julie is an active member of Marcus Pointe Baptist Church in Pensacola and The Greater Pensacola Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Nolan Sylvester

Nolan specializes in providing groups a full complement of insurance and exemplary customer service. He understands the market in Northwest Florida and provides the best options for his clients. Nolan began his career serving in the United States Air Force with four years on active duty and proudly served an additional seven years in the reserves. His experience in sales for four years with the noted Don Alan’s men’s store enabled him to hone his customer service skills with attention to detail while expertly handling the daily expectations of his clients.

Nolan graduated from Pensacola Junior College and is currently pursuing his degree in Human Resources. He hails from Oklahoma, but today lives with his wife and young son in Milton. He is an active member of the Milton Rotary and Pensacola Young Professionals.

Kragh Folland

Kragh graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Business Administration. He started his professional career in Management for corporations such as McDonalds, General Mills and Woolworth’s. After moving to Pensacola in 1995, he worked in the financial services field for seven years before being recruited into the banking industry.

Kragh then was with a large national insurance firm before joining Barnes Insurance & Financial Services under the Money Concepts team, bringing years of experience to assist clients with their investment portfolio. With his many years of financial services experience, Kragh brings a high level of integrity, personal service and customer satisfaction.

Kragh lives in Gulf Breeze and is a proud Father of two teenage boys.

Charity Hamilton

A native of Pensacola, Florida, Charity came to Barnes Insurance and Financial Services as a licensed insurance agent and more than 10 years of customer service experience. Charity’s diverse background in banking, the medical industry and sales has enabled her the ability to identify and address customer needs from a well rounded prospective. She is detail oriented with a distinct interest in providing a service level to clients which exceeds their expectations.

Committed to her community, Charity serves as the Sponsorship Chairperson for the Pensacola Relay for Life, an American Cancer Society event, and is active with both the Pensacola Young Professionals and the Pensacola Professional Development Institute.

Keith Smith

Keith studied broadcasting and business management while at Liberty University. He has worked in marketing in the Pensacola area for over twenty years. Keith has developed a reputation for providing his clients with honest, dependable, sound advice.

He is a member of Pensacola North Rotary and is an active member of Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon and has participated in mission projects in Alaska and Costa Rica.

Keith, his spouse, and two daughters are Pensacola natives. Keith spends his spare time honing his photography skills.

Johnnie Burnham

Johnnie began her insurance career in 1990 where she worked for four years as a receptionist with a small local insurance agency in Jacksonville, Florida. After a brief time living overseas, she returned to Jacksonville in 1997 and secured a position with Humana. During her tenure she worked closely with customer service, grievance & appeals, credentialing, quality assurance, medical claims review and administration. Johnnie brings to Barnes Insurance & Financial Services a multifaceted insurance base and a unique welcoming spirit and smile which our clients compliment her on.

Johnnie currently resides in Navarre, Florida.

Edwin Lugo

Edwin has spent over 30 years exclusively in the healthcare industry; 20 of which was spent with BlueCross BlueShield. Well respected and admired in the industry, Edwin has successfully sold and maintained accounts throughout Puerto Rico and the state of Florida. From selling and servicing new accounts, serving as a consultant to major employers, training employees on plan policies, administration and benefits coverage to working directly with physicians and medical professionals to resolve contracting, credentialing, claims and billing issues, Edwin has been heavily involved in all facets of the industry.

He began his career with BlueCross of Puerto Rico where he was a 3-time Salesman of the Year. After relocating to Florida in 1987, Edwin spent the next several years tackling new responsibilities in the industry including opening the first Medicaid HMO program in Pensacola and developing a Provider Network for the program.

Edwin rejoined BlueCross BlueShield in 1999 where he spent time as a Major Accounts Field Service Representative building, maintaining and servicing large groups. The past several years Edwin specifically involved in expanding and evolving the technological side of the industry via The Availity Health Information Network. As a Deployment Specialist he served as point man in Florida to collaborate with internal and external business partners to embrace new electronic tools as a solution to improve office efficiency, productivity and profitability.

Edwin lives in Pace, FL with his wife, Minnie, of 36 years. He enjoys spending time with his three children and two grandchildren. Edwin has been involved in church since 1980, serving as a choir member, deacon and elder in Puerto Rico as well as Pensacola. He currently attends the Woodbine United Methodist Church in Pace. He is fluent in both Spanish and English.
