

A native of Douglas, Georgia, Barbara Carter received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Auburn University. She then utilized her educational skills in both Florida and Georgia as a classroom teacher.
Barbara began her insurance career in 1992 and became licensed in the life and health insurance field. She has over 14 years experience in the Employee Benefits area and currently plays a critical role in the rapid growth of Barnes Insurance and Financial Services. She brings our clients a set of unique customer service skills, allowing them to take advantage of her excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational abilities.
Active in the community, Barbara serves on the Board of Directors of FavorHouse, is a member of the Gulf Breeze Rotary, the Society for Human Resource Management, and former Financial Secretary of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church.

Dennis Barnes, graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Risk Management and Insurance. He began his career specializing in the large account employee benefit market with Gulf Group Services in Jacksonville. He was awarded the company’s “Rookie of the Year” award his first year and moved up the organization rapidly to Account Executive position in Tampa. From 1991-1998, he moved to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida as a Major Account Manager. He demonstrated a consistent track record of new business success while managing over a 30 million dollar block of enforce business. In 1998, Dennis Barnes joined a local brokerage operation as vice president of financial services for 7 years. As President of Barnes Insurance & Financial Services he has established a reputation with clients on the principles of providing a high level of personal service and customer satisfaction and a commitment to excellence.

Johnnie began her insurance career in 1990 where she worked for four years as a receptionist with a small local insurance agency in Jacksonville, Florida. After accompanying her husband on a brief military deployment overseas she returned to Jacksonville in 1997 and secured a position with Humana. During her tenure she worked closely with customer service, grievance & appeals, credentialing, quality assurance, medical claims review and administration. Johnnie brings to Barnes Insurance & Financial Services a multifaceted insurance base and a unique welcoming spirit and smile which our clients compliment her on.
Johnnie’s husband is a native of Pensacola and they along with their son have recently retired to the area to be close to family.

Glenn Little, Account Executive, for Barnes Insurance and Financial Services, graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources Management. He started his career at a Fortune 500 company as an Employee Relations Manager and worked in that capacity for nine years. He was responsible for managing the human resources function for eight hundred employees in five manufacturing and distribution facilities located in Florida and Alabama.
From 1999 to 2005, Glenn worked in the Marketing Department at BlueCross BlueShield of Florida servicing and renewing both large and small groups. As a member of BlueCross BlueShield prestigious President’s Club, Glenn was recognized for his accomplishments. Glenn has quickly built a reputation for providing his clients sound, honest advice.
Glenn is a native of Ashville, Alabama but today resides with his family in Navarre, Florida. He is an active member of Navarre Methodist Church, Gulf Breeze Rotary and Pensacola Sports Association and Auburn Alumni Association.

Keith Smith, Account Executive, for Barnes Insurance and Financial Services, studied broadcasting and business management while at Liberty University. He has worked in marketing in the Pensacola area for over twenty years. Keith has developed a reputation for providing his clients with honest, dependable, sound advice.
He is a member of Kiwanis and is an active member of Marcus Pointe Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and as a member of Nehemiah Building Ministries.
Keith, his spouse, and two daughters are Pensacola natives. Keith spends his spare time honing his photography skills.

Nolan M. Sylvester joined Barnes Insurance and Financial Services as an account executive, specializing in groups for small business owners and assisting individuals in obtaining health insurance. Nolan began his career serving in the United States Air Force with four years on Active Duty and currently serves in the reserves. His experience in sales for four years with the noted Don Alan’s men’s store enabled him to hone his customer service skills with attention to detail while expertly handling the daily expectations of his clients.
Nolan graduated from Pensacola Junior College and is now attending the University of West Florida. He hails from Oklahoma, but today lives with his young son in Pensacola. He is an active member of the First United Methodist church, Northeast Sertoma, and Pensacola Young Professionals.
